ACT SCBWI - What They've Been Up To

After a long hiatus due to extenuating circumstances, ACT SCBWI is getting on track.  Unfortunately, due to a financial expense associated with the ACT Writers Centre room, we have had to source new locations for our events.

ALIA House has kindly hosted a few events for us and for that we are very thankful.

We had a terrific turn up of members who journeyed north for the National Conference. It was lovely to see Emma Allen presenting her new book on a panel session, Gina Newton bravely pitching, and some memorable moments were Harry’s poetry performances, and we were all up for some partying on the dance floor.

October 17th was a wonderful gathering for in the ACT with attending Gina Newton new book launched at ALIA with an enthusiastic crowd.

Afterwards, SCBWI members gathered for a fun night at a Turkish Restaurant. We were thrilled to have visiting QLD SCBWI author Aleesah Darlison join us for the evening. It was a night filled with all things writing, lively discussions, plenty of food and some rather tricky oversized cushions.

SketchLook October 2016

This is a glimpse at current work in progress, free doodles, rough drawings, and sketches from life. CLICK HERE to participate in SketchLook.

Take a peek at the working drawings and sketchbooks of some of our members:
