Linsay Knight is widely respected as a leading expert in, and contributor to, Australian children’s literature. As the former Head of Children’s Books at Random House Australia for many years, she nurtured the talent of many authors and illustrators to create some of Australia’s most successful children’s books. Linsay is also the author of several successful non-fiction books and the editor of a number of children’s dictionaries and story collections. In 2012 she and her husband, John, launched the dynamic poetry imprint Pitt Street Poetry specialising in new Australian collections and previously out-of-print classics. They will launch a new imprint, Pickering Press, in 2013 to celebrate Australian children’s writing and illustrating, memoirs and general fiction.
LINSAY’S TALK: LIFE AS I KNOW IT
Linsay will chat about running a small, self-owned publishing house after life in the corporate world. She’ll discuss children’s non-fiction and its relevance in an Internet world, as well as her work selecting stories for children's age- based collections. She will look at rediscovering a world of books through the eyes of a 3 year old and give her take on the future of children's books.
