Nevada SCBWI is again hosting the Mentorship Program.
Applications are due January 7, 2019 for the program that starts May 3 - 5, 2019.
The Nevada Mentorship Program is almost 20 years old. It was started by Ellen Hopkins and Suzanne Morgan Williams to help writers better their craft and polish their manuscripts for submission. This year, our mentors are: Ellen Hopkins (13 NY Times Bestseller), Erin Entrada Kelly (Newberry Winner 2018), Jim Averbeck, Terri Farley, Diana Lopez, Jenny Mackay, Lynda Sandoval, and Suzanne Morgan Williams. All of these authors are well published and highly experienced mentors.
The program is six months long where the full manuscript is reviewed for feedback and another review after the manuscript has been revised by the writer. It’s the only program that gives a 1-1 hands on experience for this long of a time. The program kicks off May 3, 2019 with a conference in Las Vegas where the writers meet their mentors in person. The event is also a conference with 3 agents (Bent Agency, Writers House, and Nelson Literary, and editor from Arthur Levine Books that is part of the mentorship program and is included.
Deadline for application is January 7, 2019. The website for more information is: https://nevada.scbwi.org/nevada-scbwi-mentor-program/
